About me

I took a yoga course with my mum when I was about 14 and I loved it. I didn’t continue with it then, but I always remembered that experience, hoping to get back to yoga. Through the twists and turns of life that didn’t end up happening until March of 2008, a dozen years later. Yoga brings me peace, brings me into my body and the present moment. It has taught me to be kinder and more patient with myself. In June, 2011, I started my Ashtanga practice and accelerated the physical and spiritual journey I had begun in 2008. I practice mysore style six mornings a week (or at least try to). This practice is consuming and I feel I’m learning lessons all the time. It is an amazing journey and I wanted to document it, for myself, but also for any other yoga nerd who cares to read. I mainly focus on the struggles of my asana practice because I don’t feel ready to write about the other aspects of my journey yet, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t happening. Ashtanga has eight limbs, asana just happens to be the easiest to put into words!
